Safety/Rules
Dress Code & Apprael
- Closed-toe shoes are strictly mandatory.
- Flip-flops, sandals, and high heels are universally prohibited.
- Loose clothing, hoodies, or dangling jewelry must be secured so they do not catch on the axe.
Axe Handling
- Hold by the handle at all times and never touch the blade.
- Never catch a dropped axe or try to grab a bouncing axe; step back and let it fall.
- No trick shots or flip throws unless specifically authorized by staff.
- Handing off axes directly to another person is forbidden; place it back in the designated rack or holder between turns.
Lane Etiquet
- Stay behind the fault line until both axes in the lane have completely stopped moving.
- One thrower per target is permitted inside the throwing lane "safety bubble" at any given time.
- Retrieve axes in sync with the person in the adjacent lane so no one walks downrange while a weapon is being thrown.
- Spectators must remain behind the designated yellow safety lines or wooden barriers.
General Rules
- Arrive sober as venues enforce strict limits or zero-tolerance policies for alcohol overconsumption before throwing.
- No horseplay or roughhousing is tolerated near the lanes.
- Follow the "Axepert" or coach instructions closely during your mandatory pre-game safety briefing.
- Wiggle to loosen an embedded axe by rocking the handle up and down rather than jerking it straight back out.
